Once you try EV, you will never go back.

Let us recall our first steps in mobility. Usually taken on a bicycle, first with small wheels, later without them - damaged knees and torn pants included... I believe that you still get on a bike today, and that you have never forgotten your driving skills.

Many have continued their mobility path with a moped, later with a real motorcycle, and many of you still love them today, if nothing had happened on two wheels. In fact, almost all of us passed the driving licence on the first try. Most often at the age of 18 and behind the wheel of a clio, maybe a yugo or zastava 101 with that real stiff, manual gearbox that trained our biceps and annoyed us at the same time.

Enthusiasts, who have developed a special passion for cars, have praised gearboxes more than once in the past. It had to be manual, mechanical, so that you feel when you change gears, that you do it when you want to, and not when the car decides to do so. Ah, those automatic transmissions, they are only for Americans!

You may be one of those who have long opposed automatics, but today you are quite happy to leave shifting to your DSG or another automatic gearbox and simply enjoy it. That's because you don't want to think about what gear you're going to shift into before the roundabout, in which gear you're going to enter the intersection and when it's time to downshift into sixth, fifth, or even fourth gear.

You just don't want to go back to a manual transmission, do you!? Also because you can brag to your friends, that you can still shift the gears manually with the paddles behind the steering wheel, even though you know that this is far from the truth.

At the same time, you get used to your automatic, that it takes some time before it reacts to the pressure of the gas pedal. This is especially annoying when entering the intersection and overtaking. That delay that happens in the fraction of a second creates stress, a kind of discomfort, that the car is not listening to you and can put you in a dangerous situation. Each of us have already wondered why manufacturers do not solve the problem of responsiveness, mismatch of transmission and engine, which is expressed in delays on the road. Especially with the combination of diesel and automatic transmission, the delays are really annoying, because the diesel needs time to catch air and then accelerate.

But you somehow accepted that knowing that machines are not perfect.

Then you test an electric car for the first time. Quiet, smooth, lively regardless of the power under the hood. Ok, you may believe it does not suit you, because of the range with a full battery, long charging times and complicated apps for registration.

Over time, you realize that this is not entirely true and that you could actually live with an electric car. Moreover, in this war, which is going on in your head, you always remember how easily you drove into traffic with an EV and how easy it was to overtake other cars.

It simply listened to you every single time and reacted instantly. There was time lag, no quarrel between engine and transmission, no turbocharger to build the right pressure and getting the right mixture of air and fuel into the combustion chambers and finally get started.

The electric motor does not have all that at all. Simply, it works as one with the gearbox because it actually is one. Moreover, because it is simple, it works so well.

Once you get used to living with an electric car, you may never want to go back. Also because of the mentioned response, which is familiar only to those who have ever tried an electric car.
